We meet Tuesdays at 12:00 PM in the Rotary Community Rooms at the Charleston Carnegie Public Library. The Library address is 712 Sixth St., Charleston, IL 61920. The parking lot and entrance are located on 5th and Van Buren.
OUR NEW MEETINGS STRUCTURE: Effective July 2019, we have revised how we meet through the months, as a result of club approval of a pilot plan that emerged from a club “reimagining” process. On the first and third Tuesdays of the month, we have a traditional club meeting that features a pre-announced program or presenter. Second Tuesdays are designated for club Board meetings, with any interested club member also invited to attend. Fourth Tuesday meetings are set aside for committee and task force group meetings.
MEALS UNDER OUR NEW MEETINGS STRUCTURE: Lunch is served at the traditional full-club meeting on the first and third Tuesday; the cost is $9.50. The second and fourth Tuesday meetings are “brown-bag” type of meetings, with the option of attendees making informal arrangements on their own for lunch (e.g., having pizza delivered or going together for a sub sandwiches order). To clarify on the meal arrangements for the meetings, here is a summary:
- First and Third Tuesdays of the Month–Full Club meetings with buffet-style food served
- Second and Fourth Tuesday meetings–No lunch served; bring your own brown-bag lunch
FIFTH TUESDAY MEETINGS: We also will continue with our “Fifth Tuesday” meetings, for each month in which there are five Tuesdays–happens a few times each year. Our Fifth Tuesday meetings are club socials and normally start at about 5:30 pm. They also vary across the year relative to location, theme and activities. Food and beverages are a central part of our Fifth Tuesday social gatherings.
Above all, all are welcome at our meetings. And be sure to check our club’s calendar, and in particular the website’s listing of upcoming events and programs.
